pink ribbons tied in her hair, she played with cut-out paper dolls, behind
the back porch stairs. She experienced life in her books, read fairy tales with happy endings; imagined great castles high in the air, where a handsome prince on a white horse, would rescue his princess trapped in a lair.
She
believed with her heart, that a wish on a star would come true, a kiss could wake a princess, and
each tomorrow
She dreamed of a grand ballroom, dressed in a gown of pink and sparkling gold, where
she would dance with a prince She wished for the storybook ending.
Life has it's way of
changing, She left her childhood dreams behind, locked them somewhere deep inside her heart, cherishing the fantasy, of once upon a time, and
storybook endings
