Once when I was young

                      Once when I was young

             I knew that love was perfect

                and forever.

                You would come for me,

               be my knight, and slay my dragons.

                 You would leave me never.

                We would live in a castle,

                 and I would be your lady.

               My love you would always treasure.

                  But life is not a fairy tale,

                   and I am not always a lady.
 

                  I will slay my own dragon.

                  And I don't need a knight

                   covered in all that armor.

                     And love,

                     it isn’t perfect,

                     but it can be forever.
